Some Paint & A New Dining Room Table

Dining Room - Some Paint and a Table

So at long last, there is a dining room table in the dining room. Hooray!

Kim and I painted the dining room last week and the table was delivered a couple of days later. There’s still some paint trim that needs to be touched up (hopefully this weekend), things to be re-hung or re-attached and the current plan is to get a sisal rug for underneath the table but I think most of the hard work (two coats of paint) is done and I’m very happy with the way that it is coming along.

You don’t get a real sense of the color (laurel leaf from Behr) in the picture above. You can probably get a little better sense of it from some other pictures that I have posted up on Flickr which you can find by clicking here.

    hi,
the dining room looks great! am in the process of painting for a friend, and would love to try that color. could you tell me what color was used in the kitchen and in the room next to the dining room? his house has a similar design. Thanks much. meghan

Thanks Meghan. We are very happy with the way that the dining room turned out.

The kitchen is actually painted in a Benjamin Moore paint. It was painted this color when I bought the place, so I can’t take credit for that choice, but it does work really well and complement the Laurel Leaf in the dining room and that was in fact one of the reasons why we chose the laurel leaf. At any rate, the color of the kitchen is Concord Ivory from the Historical Collection. The color number is HC-12 and the finish is eggshell enamel.

As for the living room (which is the room in which I am standing in while I take the picture), I am not certain of the specific color or brand of paint. Again, it was painted this color when I purchased the condo and unlike the Concord Ivory, there doesn’t seem to be an old paint can lying around. What I can tell you is that it is a very neutral light gray. We think it is actually a primer paint, but it does look good. Sorry I can’t tell you more about this color.

    Good luck with your painting.

Your dining room looks great! Where did you get the table and chairs? Who made them? My wife and I are looking for a set like that.

  5. Paul says:

Jim – Thanks! I got the table and chairs at Jordan’s Furniture in Reading. The dining room set is made by Kincaid. Here is a link to the set from the Jordan’s furniture site which provides a lot of information about it.

Thank you so much for posting your pics!

I picked Laurel Leaf for my formal living room and bought the paint a couple days ago. I changed my mind and decided to use Laurel Leaf for my dining room instead, since the dining room color I chose was too close to an adjacent room color.

I started prepping the dining room for its new color but I was scared about my last-minute change of heart until I saw your pics.

I love your dining room. Great job!
